Minutes of the Scranton Ski Club General Meeting - May 21, 2009

President Don Herr called the meeting to order in Whistle's frontroom at 8:30PM, with 16 members present. Marilyn Hiller read the Minutes of the last meeting. A motion to accept the Minutes was made by Art Williams; seconded by Tom Langan; accepted. Treasurer Lynn Johnson reported Deposits for May: 50/50 - $18 and Heavenly Trip - $1400; Expenditure: Ski Council - $56; Treasury Balance - $8,089.52. A motion to accept the Treasurer's Report was made by Tom Langan; seconded by Peggy Czarnecki; accepted.

Don thanked those who conducted the last meeting, then led a discussion about the benefits of the decision to move the meeting location. He called Jim Smith regarding Ski Stock and relayed Jim's welcome to the Club at any time in the future.

Shari Miller reported on the Club Picnic, Sunday, July 12, at Pennbrook Picnic Grove. See the Newsletter for details.

No one from the Club won the Lupus Society NASCAR Pocono 500 Raffle, said Bill Hiller.

Marilyn Hiller reviewed details of The Road Rally, Sunday, August 30, starting at Mt. Cobb Park & Ride at noon and ending with a party at the Hiller's.

Bev is looking to fill a big bus for the New York State Fair on Saturday, August 29.

Shari Miller updated information about the Installation Party at Mohegan Sun, May 30.

Shari Miller has a smaller bus holding 28 for the Oct. 3rd Wine Trip. Cost may be @$60.

Shari Miller is working on a Halloween Party and the Annual Roba's Pumpkin Patch Quest.

She covered EPSC activities which she and Bev attended: Ski Shows in Philadelphia and New Jersey, resulting in probable expanded trip offerings. Also, The Snowdrift is now only available on the EPSC website. Shari will see Guy Juliano about linking it to our website.

President Herr graciously expressed his thanks for allowing his participation in the leadership of the Scranton Ski Club.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Tom Langan; seconded by Peggy Czarnecki; thirded by Art Williams . The meeting was adjourned at 9:16PM.
