SCRANTON SKI CLUB TO CELEBRATE IT'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY ~ NOVEMBER 1, 2008

Mark your calendar. On November 1st, 2008 the Scranton Ski Club will be holding its 50th Anniversary Celebration at The Ramada Hotel in Clarks Summit. Look for more information as we start the New Year. If you see any former members in your skiing adventures, be sure to tell them about this exciting event.

Don't put your skies away yet when you can ski the Catskill's highest skiable peak and the longest skiable trail. 

Date:  Friday, March 14th, 2008
Departure:  7:00 AM SHARP!  From The Viewmont Mall Parking Lot
                 in front of the Sears' Automotive Store and across from the Mexican restaurant.  Park under the lights.
Cost:  $48.00 includes bus and dinner, taxes and gratuities. Upon arrival lift tickets will be an additional $15.00.
Return:  Bus will leave the mountain at 4:30 to go to Cold Spring Lodge (www.coldspringlodge.com) for Apres' Ski drinks and
             dinner.  Dinner consists of soup, salad, entry, desert, non-alcoholic beverage, tax and gratuity.
Dinner Choices are:
   *Pan Seared Grouper with a Tomato Caper Sauce.
   *Chicken Roulade with Prosciuto, Basil and Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato Sauce.
   *Shell Steak
   *Veal Cutlet in a Portobello Balsamic Vinegar Sauce

Okemo, Vermont:

The Okemo trip on March 6th to the 9th still has some openings available.  The r/t bus, 3 days of skiing, and on-snow condo accommodations should be great with lots of snow and comfortable condos.  Price is $550 per person.  Get your check for $100 ASAP to guarantee a space for yourself.  Bring your check books with you for the December 19th meeting.  We have reserved a 27-passenger bus for this trip. Depending on the response to this trip, we might request a 48-passenger bus.  The decision on the bus size must be made by January 10th, so if you are planning on going to Okemo you must confirm your plans ASAP with a $100 deposit

LUPUS BINGO WEDNESDAY APRIL 23, 2008

The Lupus Foundation of NE PA will be holding their annual Bingo at Genettis in Dickson City. Doors open at 4:30 PM and the bingo starts at 6 PM. A dinner is included and there will be a cash bar. The cost is $25. This will be a fun evening and will help support the Lupus Foundation. A group of Scranton Ski Club members have attended the bingo in the past and we hope to see you there this year.

Bill Hiller will be taking names of people that would like to attend at our March & April meetings or call him at 937-4946.

Elk Mountain Vouchers

Ski Club members will be able to buy vouchers for discounted tickets to Elk Mountain again this ski season from Marilyn Griffiths.  The discounted prices are: $34.00 for midweek (window price is $43.00)

$43.00 for weekend (window price is $51.00).

You can order and buy these vouchers at the club meetings,or by calling  Marilyn at (570) 961-2608 or at  her cell # (570) 840-2226.  Midweek vouchers are valid Monday-Friday 8:30am to 4:30 pm or12:30 pm to10:00 pm, except on holiday periods, Dec.22 thru Jan 1st, 08;  Jan 19-21 and  Feb.16-18.

Weekend/holiday vouchers are valid Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm or 12:30 pm to 10:00 plus the above dates. Unused vouchers can be returned for a full refund, if you return them to the Ski Club before Elk Mountain closes.
