The Memorial Day Party at Don and Jan Herr’s place was well
attended and enjoyed by all! It was
sunny, warm, fun day with good friends, food, socializing, some fireworks and a
roaring bonfire. Thank you to all who
participated. We’re looking forward to
the upcoming parties at Paul and Elaine Yarros on June 22nd, Jim Smith’s Ski
Stock on July 12th and the Road Rally at Bill and Marilyn Hiller’s
on August 17th.

Hey Members!!!
Ever
wish that someone would run a trip to a special location or event? The
best way to guarantee that is to be the trip organizer. It’s not
difficult and anyone can do it. All you need to do is bring your idea up
to the officers and we can get you started. If you are new to organizing
a trip and need support getting started, we have lots of experienced people
willing to lend a hand. And while the good feeling that you get for
helping organize an event is satisfying and rewarding enough, you may also
qualify for special “PERKS” such as a free trip for being the organizer.
If you’d like to know more about this, just ask one of the officers, or
experienced organizers such as Bill Hiller, Bev Chisdock or Lorna Lucarino,
just to name a few.

The 2010 EPSC Winter
Carnival will be held at Heavenly, CA
ANNUAL INSTALLATION DINNER DANCE
Plan now for a fun
night out. Saturday June 7th, at The Villa Maria II, 1610 Washburn ST.,
West Scranton, 18504. Only $20 per person...Includes free open bar for
Happy Hour, with beer, wine, and soda ( cash bar for mixed drinks), from 6
PM to 7 PM ...Complete Italian Dinner Buffet from 7PM to 8 PM....Installation
and brief program, from 8 to 8:30 PM.... PLUS music for entertainment and
dancing by Jack Martin of " Dance Craze DJ Services" ,with a cash
bar, from 8:30 to 11:30 PM. Make your reservations soon by
paying at the next Ski Club meeting, or by calling Nick Barosi at 347-5244
and mailing your check ( made out to the Sctanton Ski Club) to
Nick at 341 N. Sumner Ave., Scranton,Pa 18504. OR by calling

12th Annual Ski Stock -- Saturday July 12, 2008
Summer party at Smith’s Grove (rain or shine). Start time 12:00 noon. There is a pavilion, horseshoe pits,
ping-pong table, volleyball, darts, two ponds, gas grills, fireplace and lots
more. Double Cross will be playing. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, pretzels, soda and water will be available from
noon on. There will be no caterer, so
bring your favorite dish to share. Grill
will be available for those who wish to bring their own food. THIS IS ONE PARTY YOU DON’T WANT TO
MISS. Cost to members is $10, non-members
$15. Bring your friends – the more the
merrier! Camping over is available for
anyone interested- no fee. Better to be safe
than sorry. BYOB, beer will not be provided.

RUNNIN' - HEAD OUT ON THE HIGHWAY!
The Annual Ray
Balzerczak Memorial Road Rally will be SUNDAY, AUGUST 17th at the
Hillers at Lake Quinn in South Canaan, Wayne County. Meet new people - explore
new territory - enjoy the lake & SOCIALIZE! Bring your BEVERAGE and a DISH
to share. A MEMORIAL DONATION in Ray's name will be taken for the MULTIPLE
SCLEROSIS SOCIETY. The Rally starts at NOON at the Public Parking Lot at the
Mt. Cobb Exit of Rt. 84. Let Bill or Marilyn know if you plan to attend by
the August 7th Ski Club Meeting at 937-4946. Non-Rally
"participants" are very welcome!

Back by popular demand is our annual Capt N Crew golf tournament.
The cost includes a light lunch at the turn, Hot dog, chips soda or beer. There will be dinner after the
tournament. Meal includes Roasted
Chicken, Roast Beef Au Jus, Penne Pasta w/marinara sauce, oven roasted
potatoes, green beens, tossed salad, dinner rolls, dessert, soft drinks, coffee
and tea. And of course we will have
draft beer 1/2 hour before dinner begins, during dinner and ends 1/2 hour after
dinner (After all it is a Ski Club event).
There will be prizes and raffles.
Remember this is a friendly game.....lol

Still in planning stages,
all I do know this far is that if you were on the last on and had a good
time. This one will be equally fun. So keep Saturday, October 4, 2008 open

Speaking of Wine, there is a Wine Festival at Split Rock Lodge, Lake Harmony

deposits in to save the blocks of airfare and hotel blocks I have.
There's five other clubs just from this area that already booked, so they will
not hold on to these blocks if I don't get the money to them. This is a very
popular destination spot the 2008-2009 season for some reason. Let's not
get left in the dust. Let's get out there and find out why!
