We will be celebrating the New Year at Smiler’s Grill & Bar.

LOCATION:     Smiler’s Grill & Bar, 6 Main Street, Dickson City,  PA

 

The cost includes unlimited beer, wine and finger foods.  I have ordered enough food to accommodate 40 people.  The first 40 people will be given a bracelet, 41 and on will have to purchase from drinks and food from the bar.  If you would like to reserve a bracelet call Shari Miller (570) 760-3872 ASAP.

 

The Scranton Ski Club is looking for skiers who would like to participate in a ski racing clinic on Thursday nights at SnoMountain.  Skiing is from 6 to 9 PM with a cost of $15 per session.  This includes lift tickets, and two runs on the NASTAR course.  Please let me know if you are interested.  The clinic starts the second week in January.  The contact for the Scranton Ski Club is Frank Demola @ 655-0297. email...skiamigo1960@aol.com

SCRANTON SKI CLUB TO CELEBRATE IT'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY ~ NOVEMBER 1, 2008

Mark your calendar. On November 1st, 2008 the Scranton Ski Club will be holding its 50th Anniversary Celebration at The Ramada Hotel in Clarks Summit. Look for more information as we start the New Year. If you see any former members in your skiing adventures, be sure to tell them about this exciting event.

WEEKEND AND HOLIDAYS  $33.00

ALSO, IF A SKI CLUB MEMBER  PURCHASED A SEASON PASS, THEY CAN  GET  PREFERRED PARKING FOR $95.00

 

Elk Mountain Vouchers

Ski Club members will be able to buy vouchers for discounted tickets to Elk Mountain again this ski season from Marilyn Griffiths.  The discounted prices are: $34.00 for midweek (window price is $43.00)

$43.00 for weekend (window price is $51.00).

You can order and buy these vouchers at the club meetings,or by calling  Marilyn at (570) 961-2608 or at  her cell # (570) 840-2226.  Midweek vouchers are valid Monday-Friday 8:30am to 4:30 pm or12:30 pm to10:00 pm, except on holiday periods, Dec.22 thru Jan 1st, 08;  Jan 19-21 and  Feb.16-18.

Weekend/holiday vouchers are valid Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm or 12:30 pm to 10:00 plus the above dates. Unused vouchers can be returned for a full refund, if you return them to the Ski Club before Elk Mountain closes.

 

Wednesday Night at Elk

 

MetLife Ski Club will be skiing at Elk Mountain on Wednesday nights beginning the first week of January.  Prices are listed below.  Please respond to Sue Heller at plssue @hotmail.com if you will be skiing this year and provide a list of friends or family members that will be skiing with us.  Payment must be in to me by the first week in January.  Make checks payable to Elk Mountain for prepaid packages.  Release forms can be filled out the first night of skiing.

LUPUS SKI DAY AT ELK MOUNTAIN~JAN. 13, 2008

Bill Hiller will be selling discounted lift tickets for the Lupus Ski Day at Elk Mountain. The tickets are for a half day of skiing (12:30 - 4:30 pm or 4:30 to 10:00 pm) and they are only $20. Bill will have them at our January 3rd meeting. Please purchase them early because they sell out fast. Call Bill at 937-4946 for information. If you are unable to attend the meeting you can purchase lift tickets from the Lupus Foundation by calling 888-995-8787 or 570- 558-2008.

Bill & Marilyn Hiller also plan on trying to 'reserve' a table or two in the Half-Way House that day. They will be there early, so bring a snack or two, maybe a few beverages and enjoy some good old Scranton Ski Club Socializing!!!!!

 

Windham Mountain:

 It has been a long time since we have sloshed down the slopes at Windham Mountain.  It was at least six years ago when I was just learning to ski.  So let’s go back for the day and see what’s new at Windham.  I am still working on some of the details but here is what I have so far.  I am currently working on dinner arrangements, depart site and times.

The Wyoming Valley Ski Club will once again co-ordinate the Elk Mountain Ski Party.  The ski party is scheduled for  February 24thfrom 2-4:30PM. 

 

Okemo, Vermont:

The Okemo trip on March 6th to the 9th still has some openings available.  The r/t bus, 3 days of skiing, and on-snow condo accommodations should be great with lots of snow and comfortable condos.  Price is $550 per person.  Get your check for $100 ASAP to guarantee a space for yourself.  Bring your check books with you for the December 19th meeting.  We have reserved a 27-passenger bus for this trip. Depending on the response to this trip, we might request a 48-passenger bus.  The decision on the bus size must be made by January 10th, so if you are planning on going to Okemo you must confirm your plans ASAP with a $100 deposit

      2008 EPSC WINTER CARNIVAL - BRECKENRIDGE, CO

 

Date:  January 19 – 26, 2008

Flight:  Jan. 19th - UA#1133 Non-stop Newark to Denver. Depart: 8am; Arrive: 10:20am

            Jan. 26th -UA# 750 Non-stop Denver to Newark. Depart: 12:30pm; Arrive: 6pm

Cost:  Approx.  $1250.

Accommodations:  Four sharing a 2Bedroom/2 Bath Condo, full kitchen, living room

with fireplace, washer & dryer, and ski lockers on ground level.  Condos are ski-in  and have Hot Tubs and a pool.  One block from Main St in town.  Round trip porterage included at lodging complex.
