DIRECTIONS:
From Clark Summit: From JJ Bridges take 11 South, approx 2
miles, you will see the exit for Oak/Market Street. It will be the first right. That road will take under the expressway bare
to the right follow that approx 1/2 mile.
Turn left at the traffic light and then right at the stop sign, you will
be on W Market St. Follow that road
about 1/4 mile you will see Kelleher’s Tire on the left, at that stop sign turn
right. It is about 200 yards from the
corner. Parking in the rear.
From Dickson City: From Viewmont Mall take Rte 6 toward Scranton
Expressway. Take the second exit and you
will see the Oak Street exit. That road
will take under the expressway bare to the right follow that approx 1/2
mile. Turn left at the traffic light and
then right at the stop sign, you will be on W Market St. Follow that road about 1/4 mile you will see
Kelleher’s Tire on the left, at that stop sign turn right. It is about 200 yards from the corner. Parking in the rear.
From Wilkes-Barre(Down the
Line): From 81N take the Center City Exit. Veer toward the right onto Jefferson Ave, at
the second light turn left onto Mulberry Street follow that until you get to
the Scranton Expressway. You will take
the first exit Providence Exit. At the
bottom of the ramp turn right,at the stop light
follow that road about 1.7 miles, you'll pass Glider Diner, (Stop in and
have dinner, Peggy & I always have dinner before meetings). Back to directions, on Keyser Ave you will
got through approx 5 traffic lights, remember to always bare to the right. You will come to Providence Square, landmark
PNC Bank on right, at that light you will turn left, that road is W
Market. Go approx 1/4 mile and the
Polish Club is on the left. Parking in
rear.
WHAT TO SHOW
AT SNO!!!
Following
the feedback at the January 21st Ski Club meeting about obtaining
discount lift tickets at Sno Mountain, a call was made to Nancy Kaminski at the Mountain who apologized
for any confusion, restated the requirements and promised to review the
procedure with everyone on her end. A
Scranton Ski Club Member must show their current Club Membership Card, a Photo
ID, and the name will be checked on the most recent Membership Roster provided
to Sno Mountain. Nancy additionally offered
that if there are any problems, please mention that this procedure has been
approved by Nancy Kaminski.
Can’t ask for more cooperation than that! So, continue enjoying the outstanding
benefits offered to the Scranton Ski Club by Sno Mountain:

ELK Mountain Discount
Elk Mountain is giving discounts to Scranton Ski Club members
again this year. Marilyn Griffiths will have vouchers for discounted Elk
tickets at the meetings or you can contact her by phone at 961-2608 or email at msgtp@verizon.net. The weekend
vouchers are $48.00 (a$8.00 savings over the window price) and mid week
vouchers are $39.00 ( also a $8.00 savings). You'll have to pay a little
more at Elk's window to use them during the week after Christmas
and during other holiday weekends. If you don't use any of your vouchers,
you can get a refund from the club if you return them to Marilyn before Elk
closes in the spring
Wyoming Valley Ski Club's Annual Elk Mtn Party will
be Sun.Feb.7th. 8-4:30pm @ the halfway house on the west slope. Lift tix will b
available inside the halfway house along with all kinds of good food &
drinks. wvsc members cost--$5 plus group rate for lift tic. non-wvsc members
pay $10 for party plus group rate lift price-- approx.$49 total. Come join us
for a great time . $10 nonrefundable deposit needed by Jan.21st

Whiteface

Lookout Mountain
scheduled to open on December 2008. New triple chair accessed from the Easy
Street trail, 2 new trails (intermediate trail meandering toward Kids Kampus
and expert trail running parallel to the lift) 2,200 vertical feet, more Glades
& 2 more expert runs will open for the 2009-2010 season.

Mark your calendars…….
It’s the 4th Annual
Elk Mountain Memorial Race benefiting Timmy’s Town Center (Scranton’s new
children’s museum) on Sunday February 28, 2010.
For a $35 donation you will
receive a lift ticket voucher for a full day of skiing. Vouchers are limited
and must be purchased in advance with check or cash. They will be available at
the February ski club meetings. If you can’t attend the meeting or just want
more details on how to get a voucher, you can contact ski club member BARBARA
ERHARD by phone at (570) 842-4988 or email at blerhard@comcast.net. The vouchers
are also available by calling Tim Kelly at (570) 504-3200 or (570) 585-2931.
The 1:00 p.m. race will be
set on West Slope and is open to skiers of all ages for a $5 per run donation.
Timmy’s Town Center is
dedicated to the creation and operation of a Children’s Museum in NE
Pennsylvania in memory of Timmy Kelly who died of cancer at the age of 5.
The price is right! So hit
the slopes on February 28th and support this worthy cause.
